Biography

Since January 2022, he has been serving as Senior Advisor at Directorate V – “Regulation and Supervision of the Financial System” within the Department of the Treasury, Ministry of Economy and Finance, where he focuses on issues related to payments and digital finance. On behalf of the Treasury Department, he takes part in various policy and regulatory initiatives at major international standard setting bodies and European institutions. Since 2018, following some experience in the private sector, he has worked at the Bank of Italy, where he dealt with non-bank intermediation and payment systems, and participated, as a national expert, in working groups established at the national level and by European supervisory authorities (ESMA and EBA). He holds a degree in Law from the University of Trento and a Ph.D. in Commercial and Economic Law from Sapienza University of Rome. He is qualified to practice law.
