Biography
After a long central banking experience at Banca d’Italia and at the European Central Bank (ECB) from its creation in 1998 until 2002, I joined the Italian Banking Association (ABI) where I have been working for nearly two decades as Head of Payments. Over the years I have been Project Manager of ABI’s PSD, SEPA and PSD2 projects, and co-coordinator of ABI work on the digital euro dossier. Besides my primary job functions, I have represented Italian banks in various fora at national and European levels, and in particular within the European Banking Federation (EBF), European Payments Council (EPC) and Euro Retail Payments Board (ERPB). From 2021, I am Vice-Chair of the EPC, Chair of the Payment Expert Group of the EBF, representative for the EBF in the ERPB technical sessions on the Digital euro project and, from 2023, also in the Digital euro scheme Rulebook Development Group of the ECB.
