
Marco Giorgino, 55, an economist, has been a Full Professor at the Polytechnic University of Milan since 2004, where he holds the Chair of Financial Markets and Institutions and Financial Risk Management. After graduating from Bocconi in the 1990/91 academic year, his academic career began at the Polytechnic University of Milan, where he gained nearly thirty-five years of experience in research and education and coordinated numerous projects that have led to over two hundred national and international publications on banking and finance, governance and risk management, digital innovation and sustainability. In 2015, he founded and has since served as Scientific Director of the Fintech & Insurtech Observatory at the Polytechnic University of Milan. He has served and continues to serve on the Boards of Directors, including as Chairman of Board Committees, and on the Boards of Statutory Auditors of leading industrial, financial, and banking companies, including those subject to European banking supervision, as well as on Supervisory Bodies. He has spoken at over two hundred and fifty conferences, seminars, and corporate events on topics relating to economics and finance, market finance, corporate governance, risk management, digital innovation in banking and financial services, and sustainability. He is President of Nedcommunity, the Association of Non-Executive and Independent Directors. He is one of Il Sole 24 Ore's "Le nostre firme" as well as a television editorialist.
