Biography
He is currently Head of the Currency Circulation Management Directorate and he is member of several international working Groups dealing with cash and payment instruments matters. He spent most of his career at the Bank working in the Directorate General for Economics, Statistics and Research, dealing with financial stability issues and monetary and financial statistics. He authored or co-authored several scientific publications in national and international journals. He has been member of the Secretariat of the Financial Stability Board in Basel, Switzerland, and he has worked for two years at the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank) in Washington, DC. He holds a degree in Economics (magna cum laude) from Bocconi University and a Ph.D in Economics from University of Pavia.
