CARMEN ALMAZÁN AGUILAR

Biography

Interbank Cooperation Front Manager at BBVA (global financial group present in more than 25 countries with a leading position in the Spanish market). She holds a degree in European Community Law with postgraduate training in Human Resources Management and Mediation. She has nearly 25 years of experience at BBVA, where she represents the bank in various payments fora, such as the Spanish and European Clearing Houses (SNCE, STEP2, RT1, EURO1) and the Bank of Spain. She leads the internal SEPA Request to Pay (SRTP) project from a process perspective, actively participating in the Iberpay and EBA CLEARING Working Groups. She is also the alternate representative for the Spanish Community in the SRTP Task Force at the European Payments Council (EPC). Additionally, she is responsible for BBVA's Representation Service to other Financial Institutions at Clearing Houses, and participates in the EBA Association's Digital Currencies and Smart Payments Working Group.
